https://www.instagram.com/ruprecht_v_kaufmann/ http://www.rvonkaufmann.com/home/ http://galeriecrone.com/     Where are you living? In the South-West of Berlin – not the really hip part of town. Yet. How old you are? (if you don’t mind answering) 43   What inspires you?
Mainly literature and Music. For me the lyrics are very important when I listen to music. I am also a pod-cast junkie. But I have most of my best ideas, while running.

Tell me about what you do?
I am a painter. I create images that I hope will move people. Like trowing a roc into water and watching the ripples spread. Figures play a very important role: humans can’t help but react emphatically to images of people. That’s something I work with in my paintings.
What’s the structure of a typical day like for you?
I get up at 5:30, work out make breakfast and get the children ready for school. Then I go for a run with our dog. The rest of the morning I usually spend answering emails (or questionnaires ) and taking care of business stuff. I am a great believer in naps. I take a power nap of about 15 Minutes every day. After that I get started on my paintings. I work until 6 or 8 depending.

What are some of your favourite sources for information? I read The New York Times and The New Yorker and the Süddeutsche Zeitung. But I also listen to NPR.   How does social media influence your life? I started to use social media very reluctantly. Because I am self-employed, they are a necessity, like having a current website. I usually set myself a limited timeframe to spend posting onto or reading social media. As a source of information or to really foster contacts I feel they have very limited potential-
